Monitor a Forum?

I saw how you can be notified of replies to a certain thread, but I was wondering if it was possible to monitor an entire forum?

Our company is looking to have both worlds... we currently have basic mailing lists, but desire the flexibility of a BB system like this.  Problem is... some people don't have the time to check the boards during the day, so if we could basically let them "subscribe" to a forum, they could get all the postings in their mailbox as they are posted.

ALL of the posts is not a good idea.  On a board like this it would cause massive flooding chances are it was cause their isp's to contact you about spamming.

Perhaps something like the advanced notification I've been thinking about: ;)

Subject: You forum message postings for the past x minutes/hours/days.
Memo:
Hi *name*, during the past x mins/hours/days you have had x messages posted on your forums.

They are listed below:
1) Post title as a link to the post
2) Post title as a link to the post
3) Post title as a link to the post
4) Post title as a link to the post
5) Post title as a link to the post
6) Post title as a link to the post
7) Post title as a link to the post

Users could set how often they want an update and whether they want notifications of all posts or new messages. You could also cap the maximum items on the list. ;)

TO THE MODERATORS: Please move to Mod Ideas :)
