I tried to send a guy a private message and got an error.  Then I went to check him out under the admin section (clicked on his name) and got this:

The user whose profile you are trying to view does not exist. -- hisname

How did this happen?  He showed up on the list.  How should I fix this?

Whoa!  :o

Has nobody spotted this problem before?

The deal is that Netscape (4.x at least) barfs on user names with spaces.    The error I described above happens on any user with a space in the username, but only in Netscape.  IE is happy.  Is there a fix for this?

Please advise!  :o

Yeah download Internet Explorer  :-X

Kidding, there should be a fix in 1.3.0 for this which also fixes a problem with other weird characters in names.

Also, ever think of upgrading to a newer browser?

Oh, I use IE at home, but I've been testing my pages with NS 4, and we're stuck with NS4 at work for some unknown reason.  Believe me, I wish it would just go away.  I'm sick of making tables in tables to get borders and all the other BS that comes with supporting NS.

A look in my error logs shows that other people are getting this "user doesn't exist" thing too.
