Wierd version of PHP Safe Mode

I have a really really wierd version of PHP Safe Mode on my server.

Apparently, as I have read, Safe Mode does not allow the unlink command, but on my server it does work.  Settings not being saved on other servers using Safe Mode, mine does.

I don't get this.  I CHMOD everything to 777 and everything works like it should.

Even the non-Safe Mode installer works on my server.  Sure, I get errors up the butt, but the files are extracted and put in the proper folders.

This is the wierdest version of Safe Mode I have ever seen.  You say that it shouldn't work, but it does work.  Wierd!

how did you come to the conclusion that your server is running PHP in safemode?

Because the installer said so, and so did Technical Support.

I'm just saying that the non-Safe Mode stuff works on my Safe Mode server.  It is almost as if it is working in Safe Mode, but it isn't.

Strange!

I can even using the non-Safe Mode Installer on my Safe Mode server.  Sure, I get a load of errors, but it all goes in correctly.

Again, strange!
