The database name field says"Fill in the name of the database you want to use to let YaBB SE store it's data in, make sure it is empty or at least doesn't contain important info, it's very likely that it will be destroyed
If this database does not exist, we will try to create it."
The server doesn't let me create a new database, I can only use one database named mysite. I have some important data there, will I lose all the data if I use the database name (mysite)?

No you wont... but its suggested that u do a backup of your DataBase... its just a warning as some servers act differently than normal.

All that'll happen is the installer will add new information. and make sure you use the prefix if you dont want to have data conflicts.
