Need Help Converting YaBB SP1.1 to YaBB SE

Hello Guys and Gals,

I am a new member here.  I have a small forum using YaBB SP1.1.  I recently moved to a new host but the host has advise me against using CGI/PERL based forums.  I have though that the best solution is YaBB SE since my members will not notice a difference in the layout etc...

I want to move to YaBB SE v1.4 but after checking the "Download" section I only found the converter for YaBB SE v1.3.  I was wondering if there is a converter for v1.4 available or if not can I use v1.3 converter instead.  BTW the existing forum is clean and has no MODS.

Also since I am a newbie and have no experience in PHP can someone give me advice, tips or instructions for the conversion process.

Are you absolutely sure you have the right path for the old YaBB install?

I had the same problem.  cgi-bin directory does NOT belong inside public_html.  After I changed that, it went smooth as butter!

Might be your converter.php is not allowed to read the "cgi-bin" files. Either give temporary 777 rights to the whole dir tree or move the SP1 files temporarily into the public html space.
