YaBB SE Version: 1.5.4
PHP Version: 4.3.2
MySQL Version: 4.0.x
Server Platform: Windows
Link to Forum: intranet :(

Problem Description:
Hi all...

Just wondered if there is a way to stop new users from singing up? (here's why)

Im using yabb at work for an anonymous suggestion box - so far there is only 2 logins (admin & suggestions)

The suggestion login has no details against it (so users remain anonymous) - i tried to have guests/anonymous post being allowed, but it resulted in abuse due to the fact that false details can be provided when you make a post (ppl were using others names etc - making it look like someone else made a post)

The only thing i can think of is to remove the email server settings so that a new account request cannot be processed

Is there a better way?

Keep up the good work YaBB =]

Try Spaceman-Spiff's Application Mod:

There are other solutions, but most depend on hacking the code yourself!
