Bad username/password - A fix?

YaBB SE Version:
PHP Version:
MySQL Version:
Server Platform:
Link to Forum: http://sb.macparadise.co.uk/shadowbane/

Problem Description:
My forum was hanging and timing out when you tried to visit it. So, not being the most tech savvy person i deleted everything and uploaded it again, from a local copy.

However, i now get this message:

QuoteWarning:  Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/sites/site182/web/subdomains/sb.macparadise.co.uk/web/shadowbane/index.php on line 50

Warning:  MySQL Connection Failed: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)  in /home/sites/site182/web/subdomains/sb.macparadise.co.uk/web/shadowbane/index.php on line 50
Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)

I've been told this is down to bad username/password settings. How might i fix this? Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Fire.

You overwrote your Settings.php with a clean version.  You need to change the username and password for your MySQL database in Settings.php, along with all your path info, then try again.

Thankyou for the reply!

Okay, i've uploaded my settings.php again with all the relevent data, but now it won't load saying no data could be loaded from this location.

Should i need to change another setting? I updated all of the database settings. Could something else be causing this. You'll notice it's a subdomain, the main domain is working fine (and has a yabbse forum too).

So any ideas? :-\

Double check your absolute paths and your urls in settings.php..

then check all your chmods.  Make sure the yabbse folder is 755, and index.php can be executed.

Yes, you were right. My paths were messed up, but are fixed now. I checked all of the chmod settings from the install read me and they're all correct. The problem persists..

How would i check index.php can be executed? Is there anything else that could be causing this? A malicious hack, perhaps? Missing/incorrect data elsewhere?

Help! ???
