put the email templates in a seperate file and the user could have the option to be sent a text or html email. this makes it easier for the admin to edit and makes it better for the user because they get better content

You want my code for PfaBB that does this?  I'll be done in a couple of weeks.  I'm just tightening up the content of the emails themselves right now.  It codes email in MIME multipart text/HTML, so there's no need to specify which one...  both forms get sent and the user's email client decides which one to show.

It's gonna take me a couple of days...  maybe even a week because there are 9 or 10 different emails that get generated and the sendmail function itself has to be reworked.

You need to find some beta testers...  this is a big mod and we're going to need several people to send all kinds of emails back and forth to test them all.
