Problem Description:
When I'm trying to install YaBB SE version 1.5.3 ( not upgrade ) i'm getting error :

Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING' in /host/d/e/q/p/o/r/deqma.port5.com/YaBBSE/install.php on line 581

Can somebody help me, please?

are you really using php 4.0?

Please provide a link to your phpinfo.php.  If you don't know how to create one, do a search.  Also, please don't PM me for help, since most, if not all of the answers can be found via searches.  Thanks.

Line 581 which does that error contains:
require_once($HTTP_POST_VARS['installdir'] . '/Settings.php');

as per the download page php 4.1 is the minimum requirement.

It will not run on 4.0

If you need a web host that DOES run the latest, take a look at the Hosting Request section.  There's a few of us that do offer hosting, and that are on PHP and MySQL versions without any problems encountered (6 installs on my server alone, so far).
