Strange problem where Index.php wants to download

Problem Description:
Here's a very strange one .. so strange I don't even know if I'm posting this in the right place!

When I try to access my wonderful new forum via my ADSL connection at home, I get prompted to download index.php.  If I use a 56K connection from home (same laptop running XP and IE6.0), everything is fine.  It's also fine using the office internet connection with the same laptop.

I've checked all the network settings for the ADSL connection against the 56K one and can't find any differences.

I wasn't going to worry about this, except I launched my forum today and the very first person who tried to access it had the same problem using an NT machine.

Any clues ..?  Please?

download index.php via ftp if it looks normal take it up with your host

Thanks - I'll certainly try that, though I'm not sure how the actual file could be the problem as the forum works fine if I access it using any connection other than my ADSL.

doesnt work for me, though http://tools.blueyonder.co.uk/HTTP.pl?http://www.salsamafia.com/yabbee/ shows it does work..

If you can get in with a different browser or connection try disablinging  output compression in installed mods settings and options

Just made the change you suggest - I'm at the office so I can access the forum.  Unfortunately, that means I can't test to see if it now works!  

I've asked the user who had to prob to give it a go, though.
