Read Only Boards and other things.

In UBB and phpBB2 you can lock a board... it remains available for viewing, but no-one can post or reply. Has a mod been done that does this?

Also, it'd be nice to control access at the board level instead of the category level.

And is there a way to set a board or category to "members only"? I'd like to have somethings hidden from guests, but I don't want to have to manually put all my members in a group either.

i think those will be done in 1.6.0
though it will be nice if someone can mod it for 1.5.4

try the Allowed User Mod. i'm not sure if it can do that or not, but it's your best bet.

I'm about 90% complete with this... the mod file and the db file are done, they just need to be thoroughly tested.

Also, I'm coding this on a PfaBB install cause that's all I have currently. It might need some minor tweaking to work in YaBB SE.

Any volunteers?

The options in my mod pulls directly from the memberGroups table, and "everyone" and "members_only" are coded in on top of those. This way any time you create a custom member group for your board, you can also create boards targeted specifically towards them.

I checked both the allowed user mod, and the redirection/locked boards mod, and they were both a little different from what I had in mind.
