Account system - Might be difficult

Make an account system that when someone logs in next to their name it says how much money they have in their account.... Like if i logged in it would say Numus $4.00
To alter the amount of money in the accounts make an outside editor that you can set usernames to be able to access and alter... Kinda like a new admin panel but not... In this "admin panel" there is just 1 straight down list of all the users registered to the message board, and next to their name is another field that you can type in how much they have in their accounts....

I really need this badly and this was be the easiest/only way i would be able to find to do this... I have checked for outside account scripts but found nothing and this one would be easy because it would use the Yabbse user list instead of adding everyone again...

Here it might get impossible... If you can make it so an include script could be used on a normal website... Like you have on the side a little thign that says your username and account status.. Basicly since you have the cookie you are logged into the message board almost all the time... So if you are logged in.. then on the main page it views your username and account status... And if you aren't it says please log into the message board to view your account status....

If anyone can help me or point me in the direction of anything remotely like this please help....

Also did they ever fix the script where only an admin can register new users? It never worked for me and i could really use that....

May I ask what the benefit of this is? ie - what exactly you are using it for?

I am the webmaster for a high school marching band.. We want the ability to posted account status for band accounts on the webpage with a database so it is easy to update it... Since yabbse already has the database and all the users already are registered... Just thought it would be easier this way since you already have a lot to work with, and plus i can't find an independent account system...

So any user could change any other users account figure?

Would it not be better to have the figure controlled in there own profile? and displayed on the memberlist?

You must have missed the whole entire post... I said i can make one person be able to log into a new admin panel and be able to edit everyones accounts... Only people i allow to log in to could edit the accounts... The accounts are real money in a sense and if everyone edited their own profile to be able to change it, then the money would be totally off and that isn't the point...

Hmmm... you didnt say one person - but I understand what you mean now.

So, the idea would be to setup a new member group in the admin panel

Add a colum to the members table - to include $ info - but not let the user change it.

Add a new link to the yabb menu - visible only to members of that 'accounts' membergroup.

Link the new menu item to a script that allows the 'accounts' member group to select a user and change the balance of that user.

Adjust the member list to Display the balance.

I didnt really like the tone of your response - I was only trying to understand your requirement.

Tone of reply? sigh i could have been whisper it but that is the problem with typing you can read it anyway you like... Basicly that is what i need... an Easier way to hide the account from everyone but the current user is when you enter the board and it says Hey, Numus or Numus and then the stuff under that.. Hide the account script in the one that displays the username, that way it will only show it when you display your name logged in...

What your asking isnt really a mod that would be useful for many yabb se users. Its more like tailoring your site.

I am however working on a similar system - but details pregnancy statistics - including graphs. Its possible that when I am finished with this, it could be cut down (by about 90%) and be made to work in the way you require.

What you need is quite simple really - and if you cant wait for me - then it would be a great project for you to learn php/mysql on.

It really shouldnt take that long to do - and dont forget you have the help of the guys here on the scripting board.

Dont worry aboutthe yabb template or anything until you have a basic script working. Of course it would be nice if you had a second database (copy) that you can play with - that way you wont damage anything on your live site.

Dig around the net for a tutorial on 'forms' and 'MySQL'.
