I have done that, although I did it on my own and it's not the neatest trick in the world. I set up a form-to-mail application for my site. I deleted register.php from the folder on my server. When I approve a new member, I put the register.php back, add the newbie in, and then remove register.php again. Kind of a pita, but it works for me.

mickerob, if you do it manually, yes.  I have it working on a 1.5.2 board.
