Why should you edit poll.php file ?
You can disable Guest voting from installed mods section in the admin panel!

you will need to modify the database too, to enable IP tracking, or maybe use cookies tracking
imo, it will not be an easy job
why not use other php poll scripts and include the poll in your main site for guests

sigh, i guess i should listen to ya. If have looked for ages to find a good poll script that only uses PHP. if you know of one please tell me

try hmm sorry scratch that thats the url for adaware  ::) ::) - they have a fairly decent poll

Ok what I meant was http://www.proxy2.de/

Anyone could get confused between lavasoft.de and proxy2.de  ::) ::)

one that i use and somehow integrate to yse is sympoll: http://www.ralusp.net/sympoll/
it's simple, does the job, but the code is pretty messy
