Hint for writers on making a Irc chat mod

I have search on the web to find a nice webbased chat to connect  to an irc server without using mIRC.

As i found one and it works fine for me atm, maybe its something what others also can use but then implemented into YABBSE. or at least u wud hav some more ideas how u can get it working for yourself.
The bad thing for slow internetusers is that u hav to download the Sun java clients which is about 5Mb, but that is a one time installation.

The irc client does the following atm:
Full color support
Full IRC compatibility
Easy configuration through a config file
Multiple channel support
Fully Themable/customizable graphics
Ability to connect to any server you specify

we do have an irc java applet mod, though im not sure which program its using, check the completed mods board
