I get this error:

An Error Has Occurred!

2: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: Unable to access /home/httpd/myserver/attachments/[documentname.type]
(/hotel/[domainname]/WWW/[folders]/Sources/Post.php ln 867)

Text in [] is replaced by me :)

Your attachments dir is not set properly in 'Mods' Settings.  Set it to:

/hotel/[domainname]/WWW/[folders]/attachments

Great - now the patchs match, only now I get this :

2: opendir() [function.opendir]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 1969 is not allowed to access /[full path] owned by uid 0

Any ideas ??

I don't think attachments work in safe mode.

 :(

Damn

I think my host is enforcing safe mode.

However - I did read in another thread that the attachments folder was not included in the safe mode zip-file. But the solution was to make the folder manually and chmod it to 666.

Doesn't do the trick for me though :(

My host has safemode enforced and I was also having trouble with attachments.

In installed mods settings I changed the path from simply:

./forums/attachments

which was giving me:
Quote2: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 10101 is not allowed to access . owned by uid 0
(/usr/local/[insert full path]/Sources/Post.php ln 874)

to the full path, something like:

/usr/local/[insert full path here]/forums/attachments

and it now works fine for me with safe mode turned on.  ;D

Best news I've heard in a while ! :)

I'll fiddle around with the mod-setting and see if I can work something out.

At least now I know that it should be possible !

Thanks mate !

no problem at all ;)

It took me a while changing settings around but it's working for me now, so just make sure you have the full path of your acttachments folder correct in the installed mods and settings configuration. Mine is chmod to 666

It is said, that one of the strengths of the internet is the thoery that if you put one million monkeys together, one of them will know the right answer.

Well, Sharkey mate.

Today - you are my favourite internet monkey.

Everything works now, and I am one happy camper.

Problem was a combination of getting the paths and the chmods right, just as you predicted.

And one thing I will definately remember: Unix is sensitive to upper/lower case (don't you just hate to find out that the problems is one capital letter in a path).  ;D

Thanks for helping out !

doh! Glad you got it working though.

I'm not sure whether to feel proud or insulted, not sure that I've ever been called an internet monkey before, lol
