Restoring a Data Dump

I'm still trying to completely understand Data Dump.  Assume I dump my data every night as a backup, how do I restore from that dump if I need to? I don't see it on the Admin page anywhere.

Also, what is actually dumped? All data--members, configuration stuff, messages, etc?

It dumps all of your data, members, posts, etc.  You would have to use a tool like phpMyAdmin to restore the dump.

I'm not familiar with phpMyAdmin.  Is that related to YaBB SE?  Where do I get it?

phpMyAdmin is a web based interface for your MySQL database server.

You can get it from http://www.phpmyadmin.net/

It's extremely rare that a web host provider doesn't have it installed on their server in SOME capacity.  Check with your web host provider to see if they have it installed.  If not, you may need to download/install it and follow the directions.

The table structures between 1.4.1 and 1.5.1 are different.

I dump data from 1.4.1, how to restore the data into 1.5.1 ??

You should use the upgrade package in 1.5.1, it will update your database.

First, I backup the mysql data(1.4.1), then install 1.5.1 newly.
Second, I copy the old data into mysql\data.
Third, Unzip the upgrade package, copy the "upgrade.php" into the newly 1.5.1 directory.
Fourth, run the upgrade.php by browser.

Is the procedure above correct ?
(That's the plan I'm going to execute, but yet.)

If that can work, I have another question following.

If there are members online, can I do it directly or there is something must complete before try to upgrade ?

If you have a currently running 1.4.1 forum then all you do is upload ALL files in the upgrade package and then run upgrade.php.  Of course do a backup first.
