I have made it thru the sql/id password successfully now...regardless of what I call the database using the automated script I get this:

YaBB SE Installer
Connection to server succeeded, but cannot use database yabbse1.  

I did chmod the main dir to 777

Ideas are appreciated...Jay...any name fails for the databse

Double check your db access data such as
- db server ("localhost" or something different)
- db name
- db user
- db password

Also check that the dbuser has the permissions set for accessing the db.

in regards to my error..
mysql server name is not local host..I entered the host
sql username...entered
sql password entered
my sqldatabase is yabbse
sql databse prefix yabbse_se

ok...Im making progress...my database name was wrong.......my installation has completed..I have renamed the 2 install files..hmmm what should the installation dor now be chomded to?..I'll fumble for abot now and should have some fun! yee haa!  Jay
