Place for admins to see what moderators do...

I know theres a feature on Invision board like this.  Too bad Invision board sucks compared to Yabb....

It was a place where Admins could go to see the moderator's activity.  It would show how many things they have done, and ther last 30 alterations.

Does anyone know what I mean?  ???

That worked by making a log of all mod actions - and admin actions.

Wouldn't be a terribly difficult mod to do...

I personally trust my moderators and don't feel I need to keep tabs on them since I talk to them all the time anyway.

Although I wouldnt track my moderators - who are obviously chosen because of a high level of trust, It would be a nice feature to be able to trace a certain user.

For instance, I had a user that did nothing but browse profiles (I guess a spammer looking for emails). I would catch them using the whose online mod.

But I couldnt watch them all the time - it would be nice to be able to run a report at the end of the day/week detailing what they have done.

Then I could make my decision as to whether they are just curious about my members  bio's(using Jedi's bio mod) or actually stealing email addresses.

Keep up with the ideas Austin.

ok in regard to what Coyote said the best way to do this would be to have it not track everyone, but in the admin you specify whether you want to monitor a user and then it starts tracking so all it does is adds a lot and i mean a lot of data to the db for everything they do like username, edited post, viewed this persons profile and so on and so it would be very number based like edited topic1 post 6 sorta deal as that stuff is all built off numbers.

This mod depends how much of your db space your willing to use, it will be quite a bit if the user is always active.

Hi tdodnz

Your exactly right on what I was thinking - it would only be to track a single user.

In my case the size of the DB wouldnt matter - but what would matter would be the load that it caused :(

yes this virtually doubles that users load and if you have heaps of people being monitored by numerous moderators this gets very costly on the server, the extra db space required is also a problem as that is also messing with your bandwidth I can't decide whether to make it or not.

If I made it you would not have dates it would just be in a big list I spose it might be seperated not to hard just a bunch more db space, but yes a big list maybe split into dates and u view it either hit delete, alert or suspend account temporarily, for a certain timeframe or delete user, this auto sends them an email informing them.

I probably won't have time to make it sorry all im not in the modding mood lol

yes this would be a cool mod, maybe not so coplex in the begining, just a log of all the mod and admin actions would be cool to start off with ;)

no this isn't complex at all just one of those bound to have difficulty ones and alot of modding to the admin area is needed possibly stuffing up other mods.
