Make Me Some Mods?

Help!
I am not sure if this is the right section to post this or not....  Anyway here I go.

Background:
Currently running Yabb Gold SP 1.1
traffic on the board is growing
I am the guy who does the technical work on the board, I know the Yabb user/admin side well, I have put in a few mods that other people have made, I don't know any perl.
The "boss" wants to upgrade (so do I) but we want to go different paths  He wants to upgrade to vBulletin and well, I want to upgrade to YabbSE (who doesn't )
I have been playing around with the 1.5.1 release a bit, and I am getting to know it (I know simple PHP/MySQL stuff) so I can sorta follow the code, although not well enough to do what I am looking for...

What we are looking for:
- A button that the Admin can click on when we are viewing a thread, that will input the title of the thread, and a path to the thread that can then be displaied on our home page.  We want to have links to the top 5 threads that we want people to see (following me so far?)
- Some changes to the user info, we want to a) force people to fill in some profile info.  b) add some spots for people to fill in (year/make/model of truck, and a few others)
- Some options to turn on and off different things for differnet member groups.  We want to have 3 main member groups: "Members", "Supporters" and "Normal"
stuff like, supporters and members get to use avatairs, but normal people don't.
Supporters, and members have different things for the post counts by their names (where the stars are right now) a few things like that....

Those are the 3 main things that we are looking for to start with.
Now, as I said, I want to stay with Yabb (I so love you guys ) but we need these mods for us to stick around...
So, once 1.5.1 is done, is there anyone out there that is willing to make a few of these mods for some $$? or ??

1. Check out SSI.php - it can list the top so many threads.

2. Adding spots isn't terribly hard, modify Profile.php and Register.php. (it's a sorta big job...)

3. Options like that will be coming in Trinity (YaBB SE 2.0) which will have a much more robust permissions system.  However, in the current release.... this is a little much "fun" to put in.

1 - The picky part is we don't want just the top 5 threads, we want to pick 5 threads to put up....
2 - I will have to dig into that a little bit and see if I can make sense of it...  Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
3 - Dare I ask if you have any idea of... when?

I must say as much as i would liek to help you and so on with this mod, but the thing is its more of a personel project I lie to make mods that WILL be widely used so my work is not just for 1 person that sure I will get a thnkyou and stuff, but little parts I can help you with such as disabling the avatars for certain member gorups i can tell you how to do that if you like.

Well... after banging my head all night on doing #1. I think I have an idea of what is going on... atleast enough of one that I might be able to pull this off....

tdodnz, if you have some suggestions on how I can do the "disabling the avatars for certain member groups" thing, let me know... e-mail or post here, that would give me a great head start on that one....

I would think that the idea of adding fields to the profile would be widely used   - I know I would want to use it.
