Security / Redirect-Script

Hia all

I hope someone could to this!

I need a URL parser Mod, who redirect each postet if someone click on it.

If someone click on a postet Link, many Webmaster could see, where the User come from, with the complete URL. Also many Counters list all visitors with complete Path.

If this Link was postet in a "hidden" Membergroup Board, anyone see that there are hidden Boards, if he try to view the Page.

It would be nice, if a Mod could translate this so that something like this appears:

http://www.myserver.com/redirect.php

So everyone only see the redirector, and not the complete Path.

I don't see why it matters that people know there's a hidden board.... and if you want to be ultra-secret... just don't post links.  There are hidden boards here, surprise surprise (:O).

And, as a side note, pushing/bumping/knocking up topics is a really sad way to get attention imho.  If no one is willing to do it, so be it.

I'll second that! If you feel something's simply been missed after a couple of weeks or so it's not so very terrible (especially if you add a nice little explanatory note) to ask again, but the devs here are working very hard for nothing and posting an unqualified 'bump' or 'push up' to your own topic after a mere day strikes me as a little rude. ::)

hm, my wish is, to make my Board more secure.

If someone Post a Link, and other Users following them, the absolute URL Path is shown in the Logfiles.

Many Counters or in the statistikpages from any Server such entrys appears:

http://myserver.com/forum/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=2286

If this link go to a hidden Boardarea, everyone know, that there be hidden Areas.

My wish is, to hide such informations, so that only something like that appears:

http://myserver.com/redirect.php and not  the absolute Path.

I hope all could understand what i mean  :-[

it's better to edit the stats and SSI and hide those hidden/restricted boards instead of making a redirection script

This doesnt help!

I cant edit the Stats from other Servers.

If i place in a hidden Board a Link to microsoft.com, and someone klick on the Link, it make a referer entry in the Stats from the Microsoft Webserver...

(The Stats from M$ arent Public, its no Problem. But many Domains/ Servers have Public Stats,.....  Also many free Counter Services like Netstat show the real referer)

oh, so u want to hide the referer url in outgoing links
i thought u wanna hide your boards in your own stats
u can do that by editing Subs.php and change in $codetocache = array(
u can edit:
         '<a href="\\1" target="_blank">\1</a>',
         '<a href="\\1" target="_blank">\2</a>',
         '<a href="\\1">\\1</a>',
         '<a href="\1">\\2</a>',
and add extra info in front of the url, like: redirect.php?target=
then u still need to make the redirect.php and maybe use urlencode()
