Welcome Instant Messages

Anyone have any ideas on a welcome IM mod that automatically sends members a set IM when they register, this would be a great help because I IM every new member we have, with the same message, changing the registered username everytime, etc.. which is dull, wen you have alot of people signing up in one night, and you have to send out the welcome message to all of them.

Also (now this is pushing it) at my message board, if you dont log in after 60 days your account is deleted, I tend to send out a warning a week or so before this, but this again is a manual process, and I have to look at "users inactive for ** days" and manuall send them each different emails, so can anyone think of a mod idea for that?

I would attempt to code them myself, but as I am stupid, I can't

hey it happens,i posted a few ideas and i got the its made,"search" for it. funny.btw i love both ideas i cant wait to see them.

mind me not to ask,but cant u just add more than 1 username to a IM, ive done b4 to congrate my global mods for the probmotion.unles u plan on adding their name,then YaBB should make a outtag where you could put like [YaBBusername],[date],[Bday],ect.

I usually do that, but it all gets a tad messy, especially when sending their usernames through...

Why all the long faces? I wasn't being sarcastic -- if you want a feature on your board, and you find out that someone's making that feature, I would think you'd be happy.

I mean, who cares if someone else thought of it first.. that's bound to happen with such an active community. Don't let that discourage you -- be happy that someone else thought it was a good idea as well, and then get to work trying to think of another one!

ok, i seem to have a problem expressing my feelings  

i think its really good, well it saves me attempting to do it, making a general cock-up, looking at it, getting angry, realising that i have no idea how to call up from a mysql database, sobbing for a while and having to attempt to sort out the community whilst my co-admin scartlead keeps wondering whats happening, which would be great fun, but a pain in the process.

i didnt realise that i would just post something that would save me alot of time and energy, and someone had something like that in the developing. One of those things that makes your day isn't it? (if your dull like me)

Yeah, its a good idea to remember around here to post a notice before you start work on a mod; its very possible that someone has already started it, or has already finished it. But hey, don't let that discourage you from posting -- thats where a lot of this great software's growth comes from.
