I CAN"T download the new version

(also the other files won't be downloaded)

I've got WIN XP prof. maybe that's the problem. Can someone mail yabbse_1-5-0_upgrade.zip (Upgrade) 425.44 kB  to me? THNX

I noticed when I first tried to download this file last week, that it took a VERY long time to get to the page with the downloads.  Be patient, it might come up eventually.

Well, I didn't have any probs downloading. Maybe your browser didn't catch up with the redirectors to the mirrors.....

I could also download the upgrade successfully.
And I got Windows XP Professional, don't blame the OS.
Blame your settings, that's the error.

I would have to agree with skoen, I too have Win XP Pro. and I downloaded and set up my 1.5 with no problem at all.

I've got it from a friend.

But now a page were I used the data of the forum is giving errors. It looks like he now can't enter SSI.php anymore.

Your problem is that you have to re-install it. There are MySQL errors. Delete your board, and upload all files, chmod them, and then run install.php afterwards.

That isn't exactly true.  Your forum seems to be working fine and it is just SSI.php giving you issues.  Check the paths in the SSI.php file, I bet they need to be reset.

Well, not exactly kidding.

The problem is that your .php files got messed up somehow and need to be replaced; probably your DB structure is buggy as well.

The solution is (almost as usual) the magic phrase:
BACKUP before you change a running system

• Take phpAdmin, export all the contents of your yabbse tables and save this somewhere (without DROP TABLE).
• Delete all your yabbse tables from the database.

Save your template.php (if you have customized it already) and settings.php somewhere.

• Re-Install the complete yabbse from scratch, do a quick basic monkey test just to make sure it is running correctly.
• Use phpAdmin and re-import the contents of your tables. I strongly recommend to do it table by table because there will most likely be some minor SQL errors.
• Test your board again - if successful:
• restore your template and
• TEST AGAIN; if successful: Jump and

if not successful: kill your template, use the default one and customize it to your needs/taste[/list]

It's a bit of manual work, but it should be worth it

But the thing is the forum works, from what I understand.  It is the SSI.php file that is not working and from the error given it looks like the path in SSI.php is incorrect.

It simply took me too long writing my answer so I didn't see yours (which would probably have kept me from writing)

I just tried the link and to me it looks as if some path variables are not set correctly (don't know where the SSI.php reads them from), look here:

They are set in the SSI.php file, you must open it and set them.

Well, as I am not (yet) using the SSI.php it's not exactly my job to open the file, but toppertje's

Anyway, if I ever start using it I know have a good idea where to look for solutions in case of problems....

It worked with 1.4 but after the upgrade it doesn't works anymore. The whole forum is just good working but when i use some thins like <? welcome > (php strings in another file. It now doesn't work anymore.
