Why is the link to start a new topic something like http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?board=142;action=post;title=Start%20new%20thread and not http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?board=142;action=postnew?

Why is reply http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?board=##;action=post;threadid=####;title=Post%2Breply;start=0?

Are these just old hold-overs from the perl YaBB?  Why keep it like that, if so?
