Limit number of IM per member mod needed

Is there any mod that allow the admin to set a limit number of IM per member, cos i having a lot of inactive members holding on to a lot of IM wasting my web space.

that would be a good mod, maybe a button to remove old ones too? in profile you could check a person's pms. Then you could have something in admin.php that would tell you who has the most. Then you could have a function that would remove PM's where there are more than $number

Alright, well... I'll try to write this later, when I have time.  I would say, just make it so people can have more than a defined number of pms, unless thye're an admin/gm (or other specified membergroups) - but I'm against this invasion of privacy stuff, so I won't write that in.

what invasion of privacy stuff? the admin can view all PM's anyway . No one is suggesting to make it easier for them to view pm's (i see no use to have that).

Ok I think this mod would be of use as with thousands of members and thousands of IM's your database gets slow and your server gets full of crap so check this URL there will be constant updates on my development of this mod/bugs and problems I find so it might become a Mod by the YabbSE Community you never know.

I had an idea for this that I think tdodnz should use:  When you receive your ($modSettings['limitpmmax'] + 1)th PM, it should roll off your first PM and give you this one.

And, you could mark certain PMs as "don't del"... and if they were all marked you wouldn't receive the PM.

Well yes i believe that to but in a way i think the admin should have the option to do so or use my que system im creating ill look into it. This mod seems like its going to take a while as its starting to get a bit more advanced oh well a mods a mod.

Pioneer ill look into that at a later date first ill get what is being asked of released first. ill release that as a seperate patch, the thing is with this mod im making if you have any previous mods put in2 the send function for the instant message as a check is done there whether to send it or not, your mod will probably not work and nor will mine same might happen if you put another one in afterwards, yet most of the code is still fully intact just split up if they want to do more splitting which needs the whole thing your PM system will crash, so make sure this is the only mod this is a system that needs to have done what is done for speed purposes please do not have any other mods to the file privatemessage.php
