i dont know if this is more of an idea or a mod:

but like put all the smiles ina seprate folder(like avatars) so you can just upload new smiles w/o a mod to install. i like it, cause im not good at adding mods and i have a lot of smiles i wouldnt mind addin to my board.like it,hate it, tell me.

that would indeed be a good idea.
they already have the code for their avatars, so it shouldn't be a lot of work to implement this

If this is true, the possibility that 2.0 could be released inside the first half of 2003 may in fact exist.
