That poses the question of would someone pay for support?  Such as installation services etc.

Maybe not now - but when we get v2 released we're going to be on a par with vBulletin (I hope). I expect larger sites may want our services :)

A rival to YaBB SE, which also produces its software for free, offers priority support for money... maybe that's a route worth considering?

I don't rely a lot on donations... also having support will be hard for 1 or 2 users willing to pay for it...

just my thoughts..
