Instead of converting from YaBB SP1 to SE...couldn't  you just install the SE board and then upload Members, Boards and Messages?
Right now my SP board is down because I switched to a Linux server. So I have my board backed up on my harddrive.
I just want to know if I install SE and upload all my info from my SP board (without running a converter) will all my boards and post work? And will my members be able to still log in with their passwords?

You will HAVE to use a converter to switch to SE, this is because the way of storing info in SE and SP1 are VERY different YaBBSE uses a database while SP1 uses flatfile.

So the converter converts the flatfile to the database form.

And no just uploading your backed up files will do absolutely nothing... SE doesn't work with flat files at all.

I think that instead of converting you may fill the database tables manually via phpmyadmin ;D

Hope you are done by now.  ;)  It is more due to server specs not your connection to the internet.
