I so new at this and am lost.
So please don't laugh to hard :P

I'd like to know how you edit individual forums, like changing the colour of the one forum and not the whole board.

I think every forum has to have its own template correct? How do I create and then upload a template?

You can stop laughing now :P

* David refrains from laughing

You can't just change the template for one of your boards rather the template is a global thing.  Chrsi Cromer released a mod to allow your memebers to pick what template they want to use, so you can offer multiple templates.  I think there is also a mod to let you use a different template on each of your boards but am not sure of its location.
