Netscape Problematik

Sorry for interrupting (in English). But I am having the
exact same problem. Netscape 4.7 on Redhat 7.3. All
relevant options are activated. I can post messages using
konqueror on the same machine.

I'm dying for a solution...

@depauw: I was able to reproduce the problem in your board with N 4.8.

I have an idea what is the reason for the problem, but not how to solve this problem.
Namely clicking on the "new thread" button is opening the link
http://pcger33.uia.ac.be/forum/index.php?board=1;action=post;title=Start new thread
which does not work with N 4.8

If I modify the text "Start new thread" into "Start+new+thread", i.e. the link is changed to:
http://pcger33.uia.ac.be/forum/index.php?board=1;action=post;title=Start+new+thread
it is working fine with N 4.8.

I have seen that the text "Start+new+thread" is already in your language file with the "+" character.

That does indeed solve the problem. I have now changed the line

print "$menusep<a href=\"$cgi;action=post;title=" . URLdecode($txt[464]) . "\">$img[newthread]</a>$newPollIcon&nbsp;";
into
print "$menusep<a href=\"$cgi;action=post;title=Start+new+thread\">$img[newthread]</a>$newPollIcon&nbsp;";

in the file Sources/MessageIndex.php

and that did the trick. But I don't know if this is going to get me into trouble later. I'll test drive the forum for a little while.

I dont think you will get into troubles later. An alternate fix for the problem might be to remove just the URLdecode function.

I remember the discussion of the "+" characters during the beta tests, and I think now we know why the "+" characters are in the language files...

I will report a link to this thread to the devs.

Just have seen there was already a similar thread in the "Bugs 1.4.1 board" which says the same problem happens with the Konqueror browser.

Strange... It works fine on my Konqueror (3.0.0-12), even using "Start new thread" instead of "Start+new+thread"

Hi Folks!

Bei mir brachte dieses "Update" den gleich fehler ... allerdings änderte ich die Zeite einfach in

print "$menusep<a href=\"$cgi;action=post;title=Neues+thema+thread\">$img[newthread]</a>$newPollIcon&nbsp;";

und damit war das Problem ebenfalls bei mir gelöst

Nun hoffe ich das Xilk sich jederzeit dort einloggen kann, ohne immer die "+" setzen zu müssen

hatte das gleiche problem. hab in der *.lng an entsprechender stelle die leerzeichen entfernt und es tut wieder  

muesste der txt446 sein
