YaBB SE Version: 1.5.5
Server Platform: Unix, Linux, or BSD
Link to Forum: www.la-legal.com/forum

Problem Description:
Since I have upgraded to 1.5.5 a new problem has come up. Users report that they cannot change their profiles. The error message is "OpenDir: No such file or directory (errno 2)" --I notice that the directory is "home2" which does not exist. The actual directory is "home" and I don't see anything in the admin panel for correcting that particular directory.

But that incorrect path does not appear in Setings --not does it appear in the admin panel.

It only crops up when someone goes to change their profile. Not when they register or anything like that.

Very strange.

Well have you installed any mods that edit the profile page?

No, I don't think I did anything in the way of mods that would be a problem. I took a look at Profile.php on the server and it looks normal.

I did notice that there is a Settings.php and a settings.php in the server's root directory. I don't think that's normal, is it? I'm going to drop one and see what happens.

It wan't the settings vs. Settings thing, but I did track the error down to the line of code and it turns out to be the faces directory where the profile program is looking to see what avatar is in the user's profile.

I think this is correct in settings, but has perhaps become corrupted in each user's database entry. I'm going to go in and see if that is the case.

Got it!

It's funny how you can look at something over and over and not see the obvious. There was just a simple typo in the avatars directory statement in Settings that threw things off. It now works.

Thanks for your help.

The database doesn't store the directory of the avatar the user is using so that would NOT be the problem.

It pretty much has to be something wrong in Settings.php if it isn't a mod causing it. Make sure the avatar directory in there is correct.

And Settings.php is the correct file, there should not be a settings.php.
