YaBB SE Version: 1.5.5
PHP Version: 4.3.4
MySQL Version: 4.0.x
Server Platform: Unix, Linux, or BSD

Problem Description:
I've been trying to get the news function to work, and it works fine now, but it always gives me this error right above the news when it displays
QuoteWarning: main(): stream does not support seeking in /home/r1478142/public_html/yabbse/portal.php on line 377

What do I do to fix this problem?

Put an @ in front of the require or include....

After running months without error, I ran into this same problem last night...

Thankfully [Unknown] answered this question already and I was able to search for the answer quickly - you guys are great...

But, I'm just wondering why this all of a sudden happened... Did My host change the server or something? The weird thing is that it only errored in the YaBBSE directory no the other directories...

Your host upgraded PHP to, I would guess, 4.3.4 or 4.3.3.  This version of PHP had a bug in it that caused this error... I'm pretty sure it's fixed in 4.3.5. (not released yet.)
