I thought your answer was quite funny, actually (although I'd have gone for terabytes)...

Since I don't know the true answer, however, I can only offer a couple of alternative suggestions:

1. Bigger than a mouse and smaller than an elephant.
2. Bigger than it was yesterday and smaller than it'll be tomorrow.

Perhaps someone who really knows might like to put us right!

Now that *would* have been funny (as well as oddly apt for an efficient PHP/MySQL forum if the 'and' had been a 'but')! But why can I see the likelihood of this topic being booted into 'Chit Chat' increasing with every reply? :-X

The gzipped dump is 26.5 megs, as of my last backup. (earlier this month.)

I don't have access to phpMyAdmin at the moment, so I'm not sure how big it is, data-wise.

I'd guess at around 100mb, going by mine being about the same gzipped and a similar amount of posts. Prehaps 90mb

It's a trick question.

There is no database. YaBB SE uses a completely flat file system ported straight over from YaBB 1 Gold. The database is just there to make it seem clever and sophisticated. The queries you see in the source files actually do nothing.

When I shrank log_topics, log_mark_read etc I think the whole thing came to around 60MB but it will have grown since then so probably around 100MB is about right now :)
