Is it GPL or GPL like?  May any portions of the code be reused as long as appropriate comments/credit is left in tact?  If this is the wrong place to ask this, please point me in the proper direction.

I'm more than willing to discuss the repercussions of this license, that is, how they will affect your plans, if any.

Feel free to ask.

Random question...

When it says if someone makes a mod the developers have the right to use it in all future versions of the software - does that mean that you could use mods made by people in a main distribution without giving them credit in the credits?

I assume you wouldn't do that but then who knows :D

It does not mention the credits section in that license.  Hence, any mod you make for YaBB SE 1.5.1 or above can be added into the distribution without any credit... but only by the owners... bleh, bleh.

I can tell you that you won't have to worry about that though.  None of the mods currently available will work with the new version.

Basically some of the code for parsing the ubb tags?  I suppose I could write the regula expressions myself, but if the code is available, I thought I'd use it.

Technically speaking, if you used the code from it, you would have to release your code under the YaBB SE license.

The regular expressions aren't difficult, though... /\[url\](.+?)\[\/url\]/is, for example.

I could re-write them if I needed to.  Just being lazy.  :D
