Yeah... but people want to see that it works... so it was a problem because the morons kept sending IM's to themselves... so I just decided I would make it go to the outbox(the location of the message they just sent) instead.

Thanks, and cadell don't worry about it. It wasn't you I was talking about. There where people haveing problems because they where sending IM's to themselves and where asking me why it wasn't working.

But anyway my solution worked and now they can send them to themselves.

well gee golly! logic dicates that if you send a message to yourself you know about it already so there's no point in notifying you....

I'm new to installing mods/packages.  I can browse the package server just fine, but I don't see anything listed regarding this alert mod.  Am I missing something or do I have to install the mod manually.

Uh I don't have this mod on my package server... I just looked and I am pretty positive it isn't on my server. The alert version was never on the package server in the first place though. This mod is for 1.3 only so don't install it on a 1.4 board. Just go to the first post and get the mod and install it useing boardmod.

My users like the new message pop up.  But it appears it is missing in the Yabb 1.4 mod.. is there a way to add it?

I get the same error that Sam got. I've read through this post and no one seems to mention his error again, but people seem to be getting this mod to work.

I downloaded it using the links that Chris put up several weeks ago, but they seem to be down now so I can't check to be sure I've got the most current version. Chris, did you move this? Can you supply a new link?

And what is the Newmessagesdbalert.php file for? I tried running it just for the heck of it and got errors saying table did not exist.

Well first off you need to upload it to the board url with the settings file. Then run Newmessagesdbalert.php afterward delete it. After you have done so the mod should work.

Sorry about the mod being down I removed all zip files from my server when organizing it. I will upload the today so everyone can download my mods.
