Replacing a string with userid

Hi there,
I looked around for this but didn't see it anywhere. Basically what I'm looking for is if a user types a string such as /emote it will replace it with the user's id in the post, and preferably color the entire sentence a different color. Much like the mIRC command /me.
Like /emote wonders if this can be done would result in:
Metho wonders if this can be done

Anyone done something like this, or have any ideas how?

Thanks,

Metho

Oks, any idea why the "/me" command in my forums will work, but the text is just default black? Where would I modify this at?

I think it's the "meaction" class in the CSS.

i'm guessing its because you're using templates from boardmod.org?
if thats true, you'll need to add this to the template: .meaction {
   color: red; background-color: transparent;
}
