How to convert old board running YaBB 1 Gold - Release to YaBB SE 1.54?

I tried to go from YaBB 1 Gold - Release to  -> YaBB SE 1.54, but no success. How can I convert it?

Shall I upgrade to SP1 first? I tried to converters, non of them works with YaBB 1 Gold - Release.

You will have to first upgrade to SP 1.2, then follow the instructions in the sticky thread.
