Please could you stop putting it in the upgrade package! Every time i upgrade the forum my news page messes up because, the idiot that i am, every time i upload it. And end up making the news template again every time (I dont have it saved anywhere, lol) is there any reason why its in the upgrade version anyway?

It was in there for security reasons, the upgrade package should work for 1.4.x -> 1.5.x.

If you are already using 1.5.x, don't use upgrade - use update.

My understanding of it is like so:
1.A.x -> 1.B.x = upgrade
1.A.x -> 1.A.y = update

Sorta makes sense, doesn't it?

I used upgrade as instructed here: http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?board=9;action=display;threadid=23985

QuoteAlternative upgrade paths
1.5.1 RC1 -> 1.5.1 (update) -> 1.5.4 (upgrade; don't execute upgrade.php)
1.5.1 -> -> 1.5.4 (upgrade; don't execute upgrade.php)
1.5.2 ->  -> 1.5.4 (upgrade; don't execute upgrade.php)

Is that not right? Oh well it diddnt seem to break it.

Well, that'll work too... but as it says it's an alternative path.  If you don't want to lose mods, use the YaBBpak updates - quick and painless.

What you do then is download the .mod and .yp files, upload them to the Packages directory and then run the pack manager there.

It should work on Safemode servers.
