I just would like to know how secure YaBBSE is compared to the likes of Invision Board, ib3 and other such forums. Firstly, are passwords encrypted?

Is PHP more secure than any cgi forum could ever be? I would have put this in the FAQ forum but I noticed a post about topics getting deleted in there.

Passwords are encrypted, with stronger encryption than any of the other boards you mentioned ;).

Important for security is that you restrict the file and directory securities after your YaBB SE installation is complete. More details in this FAQ:
