Love the way this is layed out and would like to do the seem for my website but my brain is fried!!!

How do you get the menus and header with the forum up.  Everytime I do it I get a scroll bar at the bottom and it only scrolls the forum not the whole web page.

I sounds like you need a better grasp of HTML.

Firstly, don't change anything about your template unless you are sure you have a backed up reserve copy!

As for the layout - create your basic tables for your template, and then simply inserts the YaBB template code into the appropriate table.

I want menu on the left, logo at the top and the forum taking up most of the window, but do you use tables , layers etc to create it??  When i tried it I got 2 sets of scroll bars (using layers) and could not get rid of bottom scroll bar no matter how broad I made it.

Do you mean something like THIS?  It's achieved by using standard tables placed in your Forum Template.

Tried that did not work??

To do this sort of layout do you have to create a page for the login, register, errors, etc, or is there an easier way??

Easier way.  It's called PHP.

Two very useful, free, easy to learn technologies that allow you to create dynamic, data-driven web sites.
PHP is the web scripting part and mySQL is the database part.

Here are two links to them:
http://www.php.net
http://www.mysql.com

I'm sure others will chime in and add more info, but they are wildly popular and the best thing since sliced wombat.

Oh, yeah, they are part of L.A.M.P.
