[BETA] 1-5-0 More Postbased Membergroups

This is a new post because of incompatibility with all previous versions of Yabbse

Postgroups adds 5 new post based member groups, it also adds a star for each group, all can be modified from "Forum Prefs" and "edit membergroups" as per the original groups.

It has been tested by me only on a fresh install of 1-5-0. I do not have a live 1-5-0 board.

Boardmod installs and uninstalls without error (if fresh).

To avoid a definate search error, make sure in (forum preferences and settings)  you temporarily set the original membergroups posts back to standard (50,100,250,500)

I installed a sorta modified version, which is up at my package server.... and it works fine.

I changed it so instead of showing 0-10 stars, it shows 1-5, but now with half stars... ie. you can have three and a half stars.

I also changed it into a YaBBpak... with the halfstar.gif file in it and everything.

I only changed the filename, and this was because of the way I stored it.  I have no idea what you mean by "TBH"

I appreciate you creating a YaBBpak version as i can't do it.

But setting up a download site with what is effectively my mod, with a different name and a few added half stars, is not really in keeping with what I consider to be good etiquette on this site.

Different name?  This is the name "More (post based) Membergroups [halfstar hack] 1.0" and in the mod itself remain YOUR name and YOUR description (which is out of date - "Adds 3 more post based membergroups")

I can make a YaBBpak of the original, I only made this because I was asked to by my users.  YaBBpaks aren't hard to make... you can read how to make them in Sources/Packages.php.  Plus, they are uninstallable, which is why I even bothered to make it as a package.

Does the filename really matter that much?  I can change it to postgroups.zip, mod and mod.yp if it means that much to you...

I am, however, sorry if you think I'm plagiarizing your work or something, I really didn't mean to.  This is yours and my name only appears in the readme file as "[hacked by [Unknown]]" on the side. (in the YaBBpak)

When you go to mailing, it has a list of the original post groups to selectively email, but not the new ones.... this should be in there too, I would think.

I might bother myself to put up some code and change it myself a bit later.

I can see what Thunderace is saying. I think its best to contact the author of the mod before changing or updating it. You don't have too but when you don't it could lead to problems where someone starts doing enhancements to the mod when the original author was already planning/working on it.

Yes, I understand.  I just made this for myself, and I bothered myself to put it up so that I could download it on any forum(s) I wanted to put it on.  I'm sorry if I offended anyone.  I wasn't meaning to 'enhance' it anyway.... in fact, I had hacked my 1.4.1 board to do this myself, without even knowing about this mod.  Now I've gotten so that I want to have all my changes via YaBBpak, that way they are uninstallable.

I will admit I am not a people person.  I was not allowed by my father to go to anyone else's house until my mother divorced him when I was 10.  Since then, I've always been very much a loner.  Sorry if I have just the wrong way of dealing with people.
