I don't know if anyone has started to create any of these for the choosing...

But I made one... doubtfully to be used because the color scheme is totally different from YaBB SE but maybe it'll have some others getting started...

The side bar is really nice but the font and writing is pretty grotesque! And maybe you should save the .jpg's in a richer setting, the look gritty. Could be prominisng if it was blue, rather than green. Blue is an international colour!  ;D

It was more of a competition starter... not a suggestion.

I had the images in green so I modified the board to it... but as you see I am not a graphics designer.

Empty replies to my own topic... what fun :D

I'm officially suggestion my BoardMod template for a BoardMOD site so thatwe can upload completed mods here and so on and so forth.

It should help clear up problems people are having with not knowing whats what in completed and testing and all that.

Light Blue BoardMod Project

I could use I-Net2K to hosts the board... but if the traffic gets too high then i'd need more bandwidth... so *shrugs*

These are all just some ideas being thrown in the air... but there you have it... or at least mine.

I didn't want to make it the exact same color of YaBB SE. Look at boardmod.xnull and yabb.xnull

Totally different color schemes.. yet each look great on their own.

I could make one that looks exactly like YaBB Se... but then you could just as easilly use this template and then there would be no reason for the creation of boardmod... just someone taking the time to put it together

*points to someone else*

They said it ;D

No one gave the idea... its just a cool suggestion... but it makes perfect sense to just add a forum here to hold all of the files...

Doing something like that would, however, cut us off from the huge already-present boardmod community.

While, I hesitate to point out the obvious, is it really a good idea to combine everything into one BoardMod location.  Already there are problems and complaints from people that have the .cgi version of YaBB about BoardMod not working for their version and it could only get worse.

Newbies, already at a disadvantage due to lack of knowledge, could end up trying to install Mods written for the Perl version of YaBB into the PHP/MySQL version.  I can't imagine the confusion that something like that would create.

Probably, for the present anyway, the best possible idea would be to have a New Board created to store completed Mods and make them available for download.

cheers..........

Not necessarilly... I doubt CV would be mad if a a totally different PHP Board of the YaBB network had its own individual MOD board.

CGI and PHP aren't even remotely similar... I see no reason to even integrate the two. I belive that there could be some mix up problems as John stated.

Whether or not you choose to make new BoardMod site for YaBB SE is up to you. But I wouldn't suggest hosting COmpleted SE mods on XNull BoardMod

We currently have enough php and mysql problems and questions.. I was merely trying to calm the confusion and provide easy access to the SE mods.

I apologize If i started something unwanted... it was merely a suggestion.

It's not something unwanted - there's actually another topic somewhere about this

Nothing has been decided yet though.

Well whatever the ending decision you are free to use the template on my site. Even if it isn't used for BoardMod SE.
