[Beta 1.5.1 & 1.5.2] New Post Indicator

This mod adds 'NEW' marker to every new message subject in a thread, so you can readily see which messages are new since the last visit to the thread.

This is what it looks like:



This mod has been throughly tested. Let me know if you have any problems.

If you want to make that an image, just change this variable in the english.lng:

$txt['newpostmarker'] = '<font color="red"> - NEW</font>';

to something like this:

$txt['newpostmarker'] = '<img src="http://www.yabbse.org/community/YaBBImages/new.gif" />';

Chvitaly, this is a cool mod and installed without any problems however I have noticed when the "new" posts are not on page 1 it is not displayed?

I'll have to look into that.

This mod checks for the last time a thread was viewed, so when you view the first page that time changes. I usually jump to the last page, where the new messages are, by clicking the (new) icon. Of course if the new posts take up more than one page the point becomes moot...

Does anyone have any suggestions how to make it work without changes to the database?

This mod has gone down really well with my mob.
I have been asked tough if its possible to tie this is with the "Go Down" selection in mod settings (to click to the #bottom of the screen)
Could that "Go Down" button take you to the first "New" reply on the thread?
That would be mighty cool

Hate to sound like a noobie here    but how do I apply this mod? When I click the link it opened a web page with the mod and not a .mod file to download.

Right click the link and select "Save As...".

you could add an anchor next to the "new" icon code, so if you link to that anchor at the top of your template, clicking it would take you to the new post... wouldn't it?
