how do i drop all the tables in my db without dropping my db in it's entirity, I've got access to phpMyAdmin

Just drop table name I do believe.  If you have phpmyadmin, just click the drop link next to the listing of tables in your database and it will delete the table.

I know how to drop each one individually but I have about 30 to drop and I wanted to know if there was a quicker way.

Check the checkbox next to each table prefaced with yabbse_ on the main page of the database, and then click the button that says With Selected: Drop

that only works for some versions of php my admin....I think someone had a script some where to help you do this...I'll try to find it.
