Recently i tried to convert my yabb sp1 which is cgi, after errors I learned that I couldn't use the converter on the server my boards are on and it was suggested I load it to a local server then convert the boards. Could someone instruct me on how to do such a thing on a local server.(Local server I believed to me my pc.) I would greatly appreciate any help thank you.

What Operating system do you have? (I mean, do you have XP Pro, 98, linux...?  Be specific.)

Download PHP from www.php.net, MySQL from www.mysql.com, and Perl from www.activeperl.com (on windows) or from www.perl.com on linux.

There are more steps.... but for those, I need your OS.

Also, I would recommend using apache: www.apache.org as your server. :)

Well I am good with apache and iis so I could do either... I do prefer apache over iis though, alot easier to install/use/manage than iis was.

It's very easy to install, it comes with an installer, so just follow the on screen instructions and you will have it up in no time.
