I think I know what's causing this problem, but it's not worth updating the converter.... it's not a big problem, and can be ignored.

Specifically, it's because $db_prefix is being defined, but not globalized... thus is not available for Subs.php.

It doesn't matter - register, change your profile... do practically anything and it will be fixed.

It only means that it will not correctly display the latest member.

unknown...  I just wanted to say thanks.  It works great.  I've been pounding the board since the conversion and everything's been fine.

I have had pretty good success with this and would like to award 'props' to all involved.  Nice one.

All I require is a bit of help regarding the new password and SMTP business...

I have 300+ board memebers on an Ikonboard board.  I am currently getting the board into Yabb via phpbb in a 2 step process.  Until I have refined this on my local server I am not going to 'go live'.

My main problem is with passwords changing and not being able to gain access to the board once I have done the transfer.  Even as an existing admin on the target board.

Now, I understand that turning SMTP on will mail out updated passwords.  Is that correct?  I presume it will therefore mail all my users....

I am still testing the conversion so I would like to know how I can obtain these passwords and verify that new users can still log on - without sending out a screed of e-mails to confused users while I am still in the beta phasse of my convert and the new forum is not live.....

Any tips?

My old passwords worked.   :o

Were they supposed to all be changed?

It NEEDS this to send out the new passwords.... (the old ones DO NOT work!)

Mine didn't - it was the post in this thread by [Unknown] that promted my question.

If your were not changed, has the script been updated? Or did you run anything special afterwards?

Here's the issue..... basically, I took measures to make the old passwords work, such that you don't need to make any special conversion....

However, it seems that some people are unable to log in.  Although I really have no idea, I'm starting to think this is caused either by other converters or by having upgraded from a different version of phpBB.

If you want to help me, register a user on your board and then tell me what the password in the database is, as well as what the real password is.  It may in fact not be md5.

lol, to say it is more secure.

Ummm.. wait.. it could just be something like ip2long where it makes the IP a number instead of a text string.

not really encoded...

function encode_ip($dotquad_ip)
{
   $ip_sep = explode('.', $dotquad_ip);
   return sprintf('%02x%02x%02x%02x', $ip_sep[0], $ip_sep[1], $ip_sep[2], $ip_sep[3]);
}

Oh, and the image code is not converted correctly.

E.g.: [img:5b01bb182e]http://www.mydomain.com/image.gif[/img:5b01bb182e] in phpBB2 is converted to [img:5b01bb182e]http://www.mydomain.com/image.gif[/img:5b01bb182e] into YaBSSE's database.

The point is... the IP address is not converted correctly.  Oh, and BTW.... I don't understand that PHP code... lol
