I know this has been discussed so many times in other threads, but I did not find an appropriate thread in this section (where it belongs) so here goes...

How about a PHPBB2 (2.0.4) --> YabbSE 1.5 converter?

I know a long while ago Jeff hacked up a little untested PHPBB1 to YabbSE 1.0 user database converter, but how about a complete one that's current and also converts messages and avatars and everything else?

Times like this make me wish I knew how to write PHP.

I'm considering even hiring a PHP programmer to create this converter. I could charge a small fee for database conversions until I broke even, and then I could open-source the converter so others in the future could then take on the project. Any objections to that idea?

Man, I wish I knew more about PHP to do this myself.

I am really beginning to regret not starting my forums with yabbse to begin with.

i have 2 other sites to do, then i can do the converter. Start on thursday (20th) end by monday (the one after the weekend)?

I will do the conversion for a small fee. I would have to create the convertor. I would only do this if I knew that we are truly going to have a deal here.

I will do it for free, already said that. Im a very capable php developer, and can code the whole thing open source. I plan on making a whole range of converters, but will put this at the top of my list. I may be able to finish the entire thing on thursday

I would be interested in this if someone puts one together. I want to convert my ezboard to YaBB, and the only way I've found so far is to first convert it into phpBB which is working for me so far, and then hopefully to conver from phpbb to YaBB.

Then they are not as interested as they said. If i remember they were the one saying willing to pay, so, i don't see why groundup is wrong.
