YaBB SE Version: 1.4.0 or 1.4.1
PHP Version: <= 4.1.0
MySQL Version: 4.0.x
Server Platform: Unix, Linux, or BSD
Link to Forum: http://www.karpathos.com/yabbse

Problem Description:
I tried upgrading today from 1.4.1 to 1.5.4 and the upgrade stated it was a success however, when I tried getting back to the board it gave me an error. To make things worse I did backup the files and relaoded but nothing is working.

Can someone help. I think my sql db is the problem, but then again it could be the scripts.

Anyway, please post any suggestions.

My site is www.karpathos.com/yabbse

thanks!!!

When you upgrade, please make sure Settings.php is writable.

Just to clarify the error i'm getting, I re-ran the install again and I got the following error which was the error I did get in the first place..

Error: MySQL said:

Duplicate column name 'ID_LAST_TOPIC'
Error: MySQL said:

Can't DROP 'membername'. Check that column/key exists
Data inserted successfully!

Data inserted successfully!

The installation completes however, when I go into the board I get this error and as a result will not show the forum post.

2: Supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource
(/home/www/karpathos/yabbse/Sources/MessageIndex.php ln 123)

How can I fix this...

thanks that worked, however, know when I log in and try accessing the ADMIN screen it does not recogize my Id. It does allow me to login to the forum, however as soon a I switch screen (go into a forum) It logs me out and I see the login buttons on the top as if Im not logged in. So basically, no one can login and post under their user id,  In addition, I can not access the ADMIN section with my admin id.

since I cant get this fixed, is it possible to install a new copy of he yabbsee 1.5.4 and have that access my slq database without deleting any records? Im thinking this might be an easier solution and aftewards install my mods.

once again an help is appreciated...  ???  ???  ???

Ok, tried changing the cookies in the settings.php and that did not work.

This following thread has a similar problem but it did not state what the fix is. Problem with the sql table, missing columns.

The problem is your PHP version.. 4.1.0 is required.

You might try opening Load.php, and searching for $_COOKIE and changing it to $HTTP_COOKIE_VARS.  Still, some things won't work properly.

I'm still have this issue and I was thinking of installing the full clean yabbse 1.54 and having it access my current sql db. Will a new install wipe out existing data? Will installing a clean script work?

Please need help to get my forum up and running as soon as possible...

[Unknown] told you what the problem was, it's not your files, it's your PHP version. Your host (or if it's you hosting) is running outdated builds of PHP. Ask them to upgrade to a more current version and I'm willing to bet your problems will disappear.

Wait... It was working with 1.4.1 version and as I tried updrading then afterwards it did not work. Does 1.4.1 work with the old version of PHP and the 1.5.4 does not?

In addition, how can I check which version of PHP my host is running. I figure its the latest and greatest since my host is CIHOST.

+++ I just check my host knowledge base and they are using version PHP 3.0.15.

Thanks

Type this:

<?php phpinfo(); ?>

Into any text editor, save it as phpinfo.php, upload it to your webspace and post a link to it here.

Surely a mistake! That's over three-and-a-half years old...

It states Version 4.0.6
