[Done 1.4.+][Code] Must fill out Instant Message Subject

This is a very simple mod. Nothing to it!

Can you imagine getting an Instant messges that does not say, "(No Subject)!"

Here's how to do it.

Open up your language files you are using.

look for...

Code Select Expand

$txt[24] = "(No Subject)";change to

Code Select Expand

$txt[24] = "";
The above example is using english.lng file.

No mod should be posted without going thru some kind of [Beta] testing. Once you gone thru with [Beta] testing your mod you can move to Step2.

hmmm, this mod should really have been beta tested first...

but seriously: doesn't filling in an empty subject in an IM result in an error? (haven't tried, just guessing...)

and yeah it cause this error:
The Subject field was not filled out. It is required.

That means they got to go back and put a subject field, and that why I did this, it basically like posting a new message on a thread

When you go post a new message in a thread you have to fill out the subject line, right?

This mod basically does that to im's also:
They must fill out an "Subject" in an IM. Other wise they will get an "subject" required error. (as posted above)

That means they got to go back and put a subject field, and that why I did this, it basically like posting a new message on a thread  

with one difference: users don't expect it. With output caching (or whatever it's called) disabled people lose their message. Oh well, I guess ppl are gladly willing to pay the price for having a true subject filled in

Well it's not really that big of a deal. A new message does the same thing when you forget to put in a subject line.

Some peeps will like it some won't. Like you said it's a small price to pay.
