Now is earlier than I thought

Problem Description:
Perhaps I have a different idea of time...
Perhaps math is not my strong suit...
Perhaps I could buy a clue?

I enabled the "View Newest Messages First" mod (for reasons that may indicate I am completely out of sync with the rest of the temporal universe), but there seems a slight anomoly. Search as I might, I cannot find a single mention of the symptom which disturbs me in my installation of YaBB SE.

When viewing threads, I find the most recent reply is labeled as if it were the opening message of the topic, and as I read the reply list back through the archive...it seems the older an archived message, the higher the "« Reply #xxx on: ..." count goes.

Have I arrived in an alternate universe where my dream comes true? I get younger as time gets later?

Please explain! I hate living in amniotic fluid...

I believe the setting you are looking for is under "Installed 'Mods' Settings and Options" under "View Newest Messages First" or something like that.

Yes. I have the "View Newest Messages First" mod enabled, by default, and by decision it remains set.

It is just a trivial inconvenience to see the ordering as I like, but the count reversed...

Perhaps my quandry is better explained by this copy of topic descriptions. Notice, the date gets earlier, but the reply # gets higher.

I really want the earliest post at the top of the list, as it is arranged already. It is only the Reply # that seems unreasonable to me.

Does that make sense?

Errata!!!

Pardon my lack of attention to what I wrote. I meant to say I want the most recent material at the top of listed threads (as it is already) -- in other words, the mod is correctly set.

While I'd swear there was a specific fix for this issue, I am probably wrong - I've personally never liked to reverse the message order.

I recommend as the best solution to remove the reply #, like so... Display.php, find and remove:
